Hi there. When I first started in online network marketing, I admit that I despised SEO (or search engine optimization). But now, in front of hundreds of blog readers, I am officially changing my stand about SEO. From an SEO hater, and someone who thinks that "its too complicated for the human brain", I've become a converted believer in search engine optimization.
And all it took for me to get started in this wonderful world of ranking higher in the search engine rankings is a simple article that I stumbled upon, written by an SEO expert, Brad Fallon.
My conclusion? SEO isn't supposed to be hard, but "teachers" and "experts" made it sound complicated so that they would sound smart (yeah, they probably have recognition issues during their grade school days). And because a greater percentage of the make money online market thinks that Web 2.0 is the best way to drive traffic to their site, and that PPC is a good way to lose money, and that SEO is only for technical geeks.....then there is LESSER COMPETITION in the SEO world than you expect.
For example, if you want to rank higher for a popular keyword phrase, "network marketing", then I agree that there's lots of competition there. It would probably take you months before you reach a high Google ranking for taht keyword. But do you know that there are THOUSANDS OF OTHER KEYWORD PHRASES related to network marketing that people are actually searching for?
All you have to do is to target those LESS POPULAR but MORE TARGETED keywords! Go for long tail keywords that people tend to type on Google Search every single day.
Here are some of my 'ground rules' for effective SEO (by the way, if you're a newbie to SEO and doesn't know the basic terms yet, i suggest that you visit Wikipedia first, research about the definition of SEO and the basics, then come back to this article).
Search Engine Optimization Tips:
1. Tweak your page titles and include your chosen keywords in the site description, metatags and site content itself.
2. Get rid of two way links and focus on creating one way links that point to your main website
3. Create articles that again, targets those keywords, then submit to at least 5 article directories
4. Blog on a regular basis and insert a backlink that points to your site, and actually include your targeted keywords in the ANCHOR TEXT.
5. Increase your PageRank by linking back to high authority sites (PR 4 or higher).
** I know what many of you are thinking: "This stuff is too complicated". Well, six months ago, I'm one of those guys saying those very words...so I can almost 100% confidently say that someday, you too, will change your mind.
Happy networking!:-)

If you have an additional five hundred highly interested leads for your network marketing business every single month, would you agree that your business will improve? There's no doubt that it will! The problem though, with a lot of networkers is that generating their own leads seems to be an insurmountable task for them. As a result, people who think they are inadequate and unable to produce leads and prospects for their own business, end up buying lead lists from list brokers.
In my opinion, buying a cold lead list and contacting them, hoping that someone will be interested and sign up, is the start of most networker's frustrations and traumatic experiences in this industry! Luckily, you don't have to go through that same wretched path, because now I'm going to show you three ways to generate your own leads using the power of the internet.
1) Writing articles is the best way to gather highly interested leads for free. All you need to do is write at least a 300 word article (one at a time) and submit it to popular article submission sites. Those articles will have an author information resource box that contains your website links in it. Each time someone reads your articles and likes them, they tend to find out more about the author and click on your link that then leads them to your main website. Voila, when they reach your site, you have a "landing page" ready to share free information to your site visitors in exchange for their contact info.
The key to writing great articles is to write with your target audience in mind. If you're writing for a specific group of network marketers, make sure you understand their pain, research solutions that could help them, and write about something that they want and need.
Article marketing, by the way, tends to increase your search engine rankings. The higher you move up to the search engine rankings, the more visitors you will get!
2) Posting in forums is a great way to learn new ideas, network with other like minded people, and in effect, drive some traffic to your site from people who start to like you and trust you. I am against spamming any forum! Your main purpose for posting in any forum should NOT be to market your business. Concentrate on contributing value to the discussions and being part of a larger community. When people see that you "really have something going" and that you're truly making sense with your posts, it's natural for them to follow your content and even check out your site (your forum signature with links appears at the bottom of every post you make, which in itself is free advertising). Some of the best MLM business partnerships/relationships I started are with people who met me through industry related forums.
3) Pay per click advertising is still alive. Are you surprised? With so much hype going on these days, saying that "Google is dead" and that PPC will cost you a lot of expenses, it's hard to believe that it is still one of the best methods for advertising your business online! The truth is, it STILL is a very lucrative traffic and lead generating tool! The people who keep telling you that PPC is dead and too expensive are those people who are actually promoting their business through PPC, so they are trying to ward off their competitors!
But if you know how to use PPC, you can gather hordes of MLM leads from it, and build a highly responsive marketing list. there are so many PPC platforms out there, but the most popular one is Google Adwords. I prefer using other PPC platforms, but if you really plan to use Google Adwords, I suggest that you study it carefully first. know the strategies that will help you save advertising costs. One of the best guys to refer to when it comes to Adwords advertising is Perry Marshal. I suggest that you look for his material and even sign up for his courses, free and paid. I will not earn a single penny when you buy from him, neither am I affiliated to Perry Marshal in some way! but I do believe his information can help SAVE YOU from unnecessary advertising costs.
Have fun generating leads. One more thing: Do business with PEOPLE, not computers!

For those who are on a limited marketing budget, free advertising is the way to go. Now, let me first get it straight that NONE can replace paid advertising such as pay per click and magazine ads. However, marketing newbies (who haven't built leverage in their business yet) need to employ free advertising in their business is some way. It is also a great way to train yourself and sharpen your ad and content writing skills.
Social networking is the best free advertising tool I ever came across. When I started in sales way back in 2001, social networking sites are not yet popular. We did cold calling back then. Today, social networking sites can bring you in front of millions of excited prospects. The best way to gain new prospects thru social networking sites is by making genuine, sincere connections everyday and increase your so called "friends list". Once you have people in your friends list, you may freely send them info about your business and they become your prospect -- possibly throughout a lifetime,
Forums and user communities is another great platform to promote your business. Most forums are free to participate in. The key is to post regular content that generates user interest and combine them with links for your business offers and websites.
Video advertising is the way of the future. And the future is now. Youtube, Myspace, Yahoo and Google video are the trend nowadays and I believe the Web 2.0 trend may never end. Whether you live in New York city or in the most remote town in the world, you may post 1 or 2 minute videos and get hundreds of subscribers in a single day. Video blogging is a great way to draw a massive crowd and convert a huge percentage of them to your business.

As I write this, it's 9:30 PM and I'm sitting comfortably in my home. In this article, I simply would like to share some ideas and insights that will hopefully help you in your network marketing business, especially if you're doing your promotion and advertising online.
I'd like you to think about this: There are so many gurus out there who claim that MLM success is "easy", and that anyone can do it in this industry. Other advertisements even go as far as saying, "just join us, do NOTHING, and then get paid". It might seem crazy, but lots of people are hypnotized by advertisements like that! Meanwhile, very few networkers really achieve a certain level of success. Others spend more money than they make, and sink in credit card debt.
My stand about the issue is this: If succeeding in MLM is so darn easy, then everyone in corporate America would have quit their jobs and ventured into a home based business.
If success in this industry is an easy road, then there would be no need for training programs, personal development seminars, monthly/weekly meetings, etc. Everything would fall neatly into place, and to be honest, there wouldn't be any slight hint of challenge.
My point is, success in MLM is not easy as many people claim. They preach the "easy MLM myth" so they can get people to sign up now. These tactics might work for a while, but they don't have a long lasting effect. When people enter a business with the hope of making money overnight while sleeping, after a few weeks they will wake up to the fact that MLM success demands a lot of WORK, and it takes a while to truly build a residual income that doesn't go away.
Success in MLM is an uphill climb. In fact, the same thing holds true for any field of interest you enter. I remember an Old Egyptian Pharaoh said, "All success is equally difficult" (yes, the Pharaoh told me that when he was still alive. Today he's already a frozen mummy. From a lighthearted standpoint, I'm beginning to think that, perhaps, ancient Egypt was where we got the concept of "pyramid schemes").
To learn more network marketing success tips and strategies and get your free 5-Day 'No Holds Barred' MLM training sessions:, go to the website below:
Be genuinely sincere in helping prospects. Sometimes it's easy for MLM distributors to "look out for number one", and place their entire focus on the affiliate commission they will get. The problem is, this attitude of extreme self interest is unconsciously communicated to prospects through our body language. When prospects sense that you're just out to close one more sale, or trying to victimize another innocent victim to hop into some pyramid scheme. You sure don't like that to happen! The only solution to this type of rapport problem is to be genuinely and honestly interested with the welfare of the customers and the benefits THEY will get. Make that your top priority. You must realize that as a professional marketer, you DON'T get paid if people's wants, needs and longings are not satisfied.
Never take any MLM 'guru advice' literally and verbatim, until you've proven and validated it for yourself through personal experience. Other networkers jut blindly take the gurus at their word, just because Mr. Genius or Amazing Mentor has made 1 Billion dollars in the last 24 hours. Don't just blindly follow marketing advice and lift it to the status of factuality until you've personally tried it and proven that it works. I'm not saying that "guru advices" are bad and misleading, but you have to understand that principles are just the tip of the iceberg. There's more clockwork going on behind the scenes, that perhaps, you're just not prepared to engage in them especially if you're new. My point is, being discriminative of the marketing advice that you receive and follow will save you more time, energy, money, and lots of hard learned lessons.
Third tip is to put consistency in your marketing efforts. Just like the fisherman who is not certain about the amount of fishes he will capture in a certain day, you also don't have control over the amount of people you will sponsor. You cannot just wake up one morning and say, "10 people will sign up today". Although that's certainly not a bad goal, the point I'm trying to make is that you cannot control and predict the outcome of your marketing efforts (except if you're a prophet). But there's ONE thing that you have control over, and that is the CONSISTENCY of your marketing campaigns!
You have control over the amount of ads you will place.
You have control over the amount of people you will APPROACH and share your offer about.
You can predict the amount of promotional articles you will submit in article directories.
Or as an offline networker, you can predict the amount of seminars you will hold in a single week.
As a fisherman, you can control how many ounces of bait you will throw out into the ocean. You actually decide how deep in the water you will place the hook!
The key is to identify the activities and actions that actually makes money for you, then do them on a consistent basis! Results may vary from time to time. In certain times, you'll only get fewer sales and signups. In other months, you get buckets and batches of customers and new business partners! But through all these ups and downs, the only thing that can sustain you and keep you alive and successful in this industry is constant action and consistent effort.

Here's an industry fact: The average distributor just randomly pitches his or her presentation to every hot prospect that comes along. This is not entirely bad, but the amount of income that any networker can get from such means is just "enough to get by". Many people in MLM know that if you talk to more prospects, eventually there's a small percentage who will be interested in the opportunity.
But as usual, ace recruiters and MLM heavy hitters know better. They don't rush quickly into giving their sales presentation. They realize that if they proceed with pitching about the business opportunity without knowing the specific needs and wants of a particular prospect, the entire sales process has a huge tendency to be a flop.
Why?
Because every prospect has varying needs, wants, 'hot buttons'. Therefore, each prospect also has a unique reason for joining an MLM opportunity. So before heading into the the motions of presenting the details of your offer, you must have a clear idea of the specific needs, wants, and 'hot buttons' of that particular prospect at that particular time!
Is the prospect an MLM veteran who is looking for the next big thing? If he is, then don't give him or her the usual "basic pitch" that will be an insult to his/her intelligence. Instead, show the prospect how his leadership and experience will fit into your splendid money making system.
Is the prospect product oriented and doesnt look like he'll recruit a lot of folks? Then show him or her the huge potential of the product and your retail plan. Etc.
Is your prospect a skeptic? Show him or her how your MLM program guarantees the safety and satisfaction of its distributors, but never give any promises of getting rich quick. Give that prospect a picture of reality.
My point is, you have to structure your MLM presentation based on the needs, wants, and preferences of the prospect. To do that, make sure you spend time getting to know the prospect. If you're marketing through the internet, gather useful information from the prospect with the intent of helping him or her better. Once you spot a particular need and want of that prospect which your MLM opportunity can satisfy, then that's time for you to present your offer.
This is a very basic sales concept that sadly, many networkers have forgotten to do. But hey, it's good to know that heavy hitters still do this, that's why they're able to sponsor more distributors and earn more residual income.

Sponsoring or "recruiting" new distributors to a business opportunity is one of the toughest challenges that all network marketers face. Let's admit it, sponsoring is not as easy as it sounds. While the MLM company tells its reps to list 100 names, or bombards them with tons of inspirational talk, the reality is that majority of networkers struggle with recruiting.
And yet, some "ace" network marketers don't seem to struggle at all. They are the ones who often climb up to the stage on awarding day. They are the ones who bring 10, 20, 50, even 100 hundred or more people to the company every single month! If you come to think of it, there seems to be some "mystifying secret" that successful networkers know that average networkers don't.
I've personally built a downline of more than 1,000 people in just 4 months, and I came to a single conclusion about MLM sponsoring. The art of "ace recruiting" starts with a success mindset. Some people enter this industry totally unprepared for sales, marketing, and things that every networker has to deal with regularly, such as rejection and procrastination from prospects. If you want to be a skilled MLM sponsor, you must know what to expect! You must accept the reality that not all people will be interested with your biz opp, in which case, move on to the next prospect!
The initial reaction of novice network marketers is "culture shock". Somehow, they are not prepared for the "pain" that this industry seems to inflict upon them.
To be a successful MLM sponsor, you must accept the reality that MLM demands some salesmanship! Forget about the ads that say, "Earn Money From This Binary Program, No Selling Involved!". Network marketing requires that you improve your sales and marketing skills. You must learn how to prospect, gather leads, qualify, present your opportunity, handle objections, and close the sale. There's no getting around it.
Second, if you want to recruit like crazy, strive hard to increase your leadership skills. People are drawn to leaders. The very essence of 'attraction marketing' is that people don't just join an MLM opportunity. Often, people will join because they believe you are a leader that can help them achieve their personal goals and financial dreams.
http://www.gentlehorizons.ws
http://www.mlmresource.blogspot.com
The first way to share your business opportunity to others is by hard selling. Wait, I know the term "hard selling" rings somewhat a negative connotation. But to me, hard selling is simply making your proposition upfront. It's about being a straight shooter, laying the cards on the table with the prospect, and being straightforward and honest with him or her. Some prospects are attracted to this way of "selling" (if you'll excuse the word), because it allows them to see your true motive from the start. It's like you saying, "there's no catch, here's the true offer!". Online MLM'ers do this method by writing good sales copy (sales emails, pitch pages, referring people directly to affiliate site). This demands more than average copywriting skills, and even outstanding phone skills.
The second way to attract prospects is by "implicit bonding". For many years, I never knew that I'm already using this strategy in my business. Only recently, I heard the concept from Frank Kern's "Mass Control" site, and I realized within myself, "hey, I'm already doing this stuff".
Implicit bonding is when you don't make an obvious effort to convince, sell, or persuade your prospect to buy from you or take advantage of your offer. Rather, you focus on helping them get useful information about the solution to their problems, wants and needs. You do this over a certain period of time, either within 7 days, or even an entire year (with the use of an autoresponder of course). When you establish yourself as a provider, helper, and sincere friend, trust and rapport is developed between you and your prospects. Gaining trust is a vital factor in influencing your prospect's buying decisions!
In the process of implicit bonding, you use "multiple modalities". It simply means, you use different mediums by which to access your prospect's brain. You can use text, audio, video, pictures. You can make them laugh or cause them to learn something useful. You can let their voices and opinions be heard by giving them an opportunity to post feedbacks. This can all be done by using every possible platform online to access your prospects: websites, blog posts, audio, video, picture pages, etc.
Once trust, rapport and value has been established, prospects just voluntarily convince themselves to buy from you or join your team. It really works like crazy. That's what happens when you invest in strengthening relationships with prospects over an extended period of time.
Everywhere you go, networkers with different backgrounds and abilities seem to have the same excuses and complaints. They say things like these:
" I have run out of contacts to share my biz op with.."
" I don't have a list!!"
" People generally have a bad idea about MLM, so no one will join me..."
Blah..blah..they act as if there is a SHORTAGE of leads and prospects for network marketing! But the reality is that there is an ABUNDANCE of leads out there...if you realize the potential of the MLM market, and the high demand for lucrative business opportunities, you'll never have to make the same excuses mentioned above -- ever again.
First: EVERY PERSON who is currently active in the MLM industry is part of your market. They are potential business partners. Some people will give up at this point and say, 'well, Joe Black is already with Herbalife, he won't be interested with my biz opp."
Cmon dude..think 2 or 3 years down the line. These networkers may not join you right now (and believe me, SOME of them will even join you now), but it's a reality in this industry that people shift restlessly from one company to another. When they make that decision to venture into greener pastures, will you be there? Will you and your company be the best option for them?
That's why it's important to build your contact base and establish relationships. You are thinking long term here. Don't drop people who say 'no' to your offer. Retain them. Build them up. Establish your expertise, and in the long run, many of those 'no' people will turn into a 'yes'.
Second: EVERY PERSON who can benefit from your product in some way, is a perfect prospect to your business opportunity. This is self explanatory. SO how do you reach these people? The answer is simple. Advertise the product, without mentioning the business opportunity. When they make a decision to purchase the product, or after they have bought twice or thrice from you, don't forget to mention the benefits of your biz opp. I've gathered batches of distributors this way.
Network marketing is fun. It doesnt need to be complicated and full of 'failure'. Don't listen to the 'gurus' out there who give you a tainted picture of MLM, so they can intimidate you into buying their stuff. Here's my simple and 'idiotic' formula to building a huge downline:
Just go out there, build 5 to 10 people frontline....then stop recruiting for a while and establish depth (help your downlines multiply and refer others).
Some will drop out within 5 to 6 months. Accept that and move on. Then REPLACE them. Remember, there is NO SHORTAGE OF GOOD PROSPECTS and potential business partners...

Many succesful networkers say that to succeed in MLM, you need to focus your recruitment efforts on people who are already in network marketing, or have been with an MLM company before.
Well, that is true to some extent. But there's a slight twist.
If you take a look at what's happening online, you will notice that networkers are trying to recruit each other! There's nothing really wrong with this, except that majority of people in our industry limit themselves within the MLM niche or market.
They forgot that there are a great deal of prospects waiting OUTSIDE the network marketing niche. These prospects are just waiting to be marketed to!
If you want to look for new prospects in untapped markets, why not try to search the following industries/niches:
* Real estate
* Investment
* Offline business owners
* Printing and publishing
* Golf circles
* Casino and gambling
* Religion (this is a big one. A great percentage of devout Christians are full time networkers!! I can't explain this, but it's happening)
* Bloggers (bloggers are splendid prospects for MLM business!!)
* Website owners
* Lawyers, doctors and other professionals
* etc..
You see, there are many sources of prospects for your network marketing business! All you have to do is be creative and saturate each niche with focus and energy.
For example, try this:
Go to Google Blogsearch. Type the name of the niche you like to search, then type the kind of blogging platform. For example: "Real Estate Wordpress", or... "Golfers Blogspot", or..."Lawyer Typepad".
When you click 'search', all the blog owners in the specific niche that you searched will appear. Now you may visit their blogs, post comments, build a relationship with them...and ultimately lead them towards your business offer.
Now that's something that many networkers just don't do, but actually works.

If you search Google at this very instant, and you enter the MLM / affiliate marketing category, you will see a very conspicuous trend. Hundreds and thousands of various network marketing related tools are being sold online. It ranges from autoresponders, ebook rebranders, website replicators. keyword research tools, splash page creators, web page audio generators...and many others!
Sure some of these tools are somewhat valuable. However, it is easy to become mentally paralyzed just by thinking about all these available network marketing tools, and how to specifically use each one of them! It is even harder to imagine which one is the most valuable of all. Every seller seems to say that you can't live without the tool they are offering you!
Do you really need to purchase all of these "tools" being sold online before you can succeed in online network marketing?
My answer is NO.
In fact, you already have the best network marketing tool in the world. And I don't want you to feel corny about this, but the truth is, your brain is the best marketing tool there is. Your expertise will enable you to attract 1,000 free leads while the entire market around you is paying painfully for each lead. Your knowledge will allow you to fully optimize your marketing efforts and get the maximum amount of results from it, while paying for less! Your market intuition will help you detect what is valuable and what truly matters versus the things you don't truly need.
You see, when you approach this industry with the intention to study it with the intensity of a CIA spy, you will never look for "guaranteed secrets" and shortcuts again. Your expertise will allow you to see this industry as it is. Also, stop analyzing too much, and start doing more! If you commit mistakes, you will end up learning more stuff, and that's good for you. The most important thing is that you learn and understand the MLM industry a little bit better each day. Invest in your BRAIN -- your expertise, knowledge and experience -- because that's the best network marketing tool in the world.
http://www.gentlehorizons.wsHi everyone. It's 8 am right now on my side of the world, and I just dropped by to say hi to the readers of this blog. I was away from the computer for an entire week, which explains why there are no new blog posts. So sorry about that.
Anyway, I had one fabulous weekend, and as far as network marketing is concerned, I had a new sign up last Friday. The guy received my M.L.M. Prison Break ebook via email and somehow he learned a lot from it. He took advanage of the bonus business opportunity as well. Well, what can I say? Another colleague to work with.
Just last night I was surfing the net for breaking news about the network marketing industry. As you know, things tend to be fast paced online and I don't wanna get left behind in the field I have chosen. So I've been hanging out in popular forums such as Magnetic Sponsoring, Home Based Business Forums, MLM.com, and exchanging views with other network marketers.
I've also been visiting blogs and exchanging emails with some heavy hitters.
Here's the news:
There is an alarming trend going on in the network marketing world. It is this:
The attrition rate is going up! That means, networkers nowadays are switching from one company to another... more than ever before! This can be both good and bad, and in my opinion, we must do anything to lessen it (because we can't avoid it), or at least we can find a good way to handle it when it happens.
I wrote an entire article about this topic and you can check it out here:
http://ezinearticles.com/?How-To-Handle-It-When-People-Come-And-Go-In-MLM&id=1111083
Have a great day!

Why do you need a larger amount of traffic and a larger amount of email subscribers? The answer is simple. Online marketing, just like any business in the world, heavily depends on the law of averages. This means that to increase the number of conversions (sales and sign-ups), then you also need to increase the number of people who view your offer. By doing so, you also increase your success percentage and the ratio of prospects to customers/business partners.
But for most network marketers online, getting the traffic and building the big list is the hard part. While the gurus and experts make it look easy (because they have decades of experience in this industry), the reality is that the average online networker struggles with these two basic things (traffic and list building). The reason for this is because ten or twenty years ago, traffic and list building are foreign to the network marketing field. This industry emerged mainly from offline marketing and word of mouth. The MLM old timers and the pioneers did methods that are totally different from what we are doing today. The result? Very few training materials about traffic and list building are available from the MLM industry itself. We need to derive these information from a very different but relevant industry -- internet marketing.
In this article, I cannot go through specific list building and traffic methods. The fact is, methods go obsolete, and trends go out of style. but concepts remain and that's our main concern today. If you want to truly get more traffic and build a huge list, you need to do two (2) basic things: Advertise more, and produce more content.
At the end of the day, people who have the MOST ads out there, and those who produce and CONTROL THE CONTENT, are the ones who get the traffic and build massive lists. Sure there's more clockwork going on behind the scenes, but basically, putting out more ads and circulating more content on the web is the name of the game. Those are the things that rake the big bucks. The key is to develop enough CONSISTENCY and DISCIPLINE to advertise and produce content on a regular basis. Do it effectively, and do it regularly. Then watch your online business grow.

There's so much talk on the internet regarding one of the most important aspects of any MLM business: duplication. For majority of network marketers, duplication is a myth. It's one of the many unfulfilled promises that the company and the recruiting leaders fed into the minds of newbies. Any MLM biz opp peddler today will tell you that their system is "easily duplicatable" and automated, they'd even say anything to get you to sign. (the acronym for G.U.T.S. -- get you to sign).
Is duplication truly achievable?
With the MLM attrition or drop out rate constantly increasing, it seems hard to believe that any true duplicatable system exists. A lot of money making program promoters will simply pitch you about the company, tell you that they have the best comp plan in town, charge you big bucks, then give you an instant replicated site. (congratulations...almost everyone today have at least 3 to 4 replicated sites...call that "exciting"). Is this duplication? Well, to some extent, yes. But still, simply getting a replicated site will not trigger the snowball effect in your business. In fact, there's so much more that meets the eye!
If you truly want to duplicate, copy the system, not the upline.
Majority of uplines just tell their new team members to "follow what I did". Then they talk about Google advertising, article marketing, search engine optimization (can't even spell that one!), Web 2.0, RSS and Atom feeds, traffic exchanges and just let the "stair step breakaway plan for work for you".
Then the new downline says, "huh? what's that again??"
You see, not all team members can copy what the upline did. The reason is this: All people have different sets of skills. Some are technically minded. Some are not. Some are more comfortable with offline marketing, while others freak out. Some people can make 100 personal videos on Youtube, others cannot stand the idea. Some can spit out 10 to 20 articles per week, others can't go through a single paragraph! And believe me, I've got team members who constantly bring new recruits to our team, and their primary method of generating leads is contacting their warm market and getting referrals from them. Talk about the "old way", it's still not obsolete!
So if you, as an upline, try to tell your members to just "copy you", it's a bit dangerous. Your downline members have varying skills, and not all will be able to follow along. If you restrict their marketing to Google AdWords and article marketing just because that's exactly what you're doing, you are also restricting their growth. I call this "duplicating the upline".
On the other hand, I encourage my team members to copy the system, not me. I tell them "here's your replicated site, do anything you can to invite more people to it. Whether you do it offline or online, it's up to you". If they choose to do online marketing, I have training material prepared especially for that. If they choose offline methods, I have a separate training series for them. If they choose to employ both marketing methods, then fine and great.
The important thing is to let your prospects choose how they intend to run their MLM business. I cannot push them to do exactly what I'm doing because I'm a different person. Dictating them what to do is similar to strangling them and even killing their innate potential.
http://www.gentlehorizons.wsDo this experiment. It will take you less than 30 seconds to do so. Go to Google and type the words 'MLM training'. As soon as you do that, you will see bazillions of websites listed, owned by some MLM guru or networking expert. Now let me ask you a question, if the failure rate in our industry is 95%, how come almost everybody is claiming to be a guru?
Could it be that a lot of folks are trying to be someone else they are truly not? (I mean, if you're reading this and you are a true expert, then there's no problem with that, I take my hats off to you).
However, the secret to becoming a successful MLM entrepreneur is not to be a guru, but to be a true leader. There's a big difference between the two. I think when you're a guru, it implies that you're sharing a vertical relationship with your people. You are sending a message that "I am up here and you are all down there". You may get some sales, sign ups, and loyal fans that way, but there will be less genuine leverage because those "followers" rely heavily on you -- doing less work by themselves. People are lazy and they would rather have some gifted person do all the hard stuff for them, while they wait for the cash to flow in.
A leader, meanwhile, motivates people to action but knows how to delegate power and responsibility. In fact, the best leaders I know have very limited technical skills. True leaders have a higher emotional quotient than intelligence quotient. They know that the secret to making more sales and getting more sign-ups is not to constantly flood their prospects with information all the time. It is much more important to uncover prospect's needs by ASKING QUESTIONS and listening intently. In short, leaders don't have a high-handed approach to the business.
Gurus need to flaunt their income checks and proof of income before people can believe them.
Leaders can influence people even if their present income is ZERO. Their goal is to sincerely help others, and NOT to "trap" people to some marketing baits.
So which would you rather be?
You must carefully choose an appropriate email subject. Remember, your goal is not to create an award winning title that will win a Pulitzer or something. Your one and only objective in the email subject is to cause your readers to want to click and open the email.
To have an effective email subject, as a general rule, it should not look like an advertisement but rather a real , personal email message. Think of the kind of email subjects you receive from your real-life friends. Those are the kinds of email subjects that will be effective in your email marketing campaigns.
If you write email subjects like "How To Achieve Financial Freedom", or "Make MOney In 30 Days Or Less", chances are, people will delete it instantly. Instead, use email subjects like "I just came home from Miami", or "Some freebies from a new CD I just ripped". Be creative though, and study real email subjects that caused you to click and want to read promotional emails.
Another thing that you have to put in mind is getting your email past the spam filters. Do you know that there are certain words and phrases that instantly pick the attention of email spam filters? This will cause your message to be directly trashed to the bulk email folder.
Don't use all caps in any part of your email, especially the word "FREE". Too many long links, and broken spaces may also cause your emails to be blocked instantly. Some email services are now blocking the word "Spam" itself. A good alternative to the word "Spam" is "unsolicited mail", or simply not use that word at all in the email body.

Let's say you have the best website or offer in the entire universe. But I can predict the success or downfall of that website depending on your ability to drive large amounts of traffic to it every single day. I know this may sound mean, but your website is NOTHING if it doesnt have visitors.
Some people feel that driving traffic to their websites is a rocket science. It actually isn't. It's just a matter of generating user interest, the same way that the television industry attracts viewers!
Ok, what can we learn from the TV industry that will help you drive more traffic to your business website?
Well, the TV industry is NOt a long show of ads. Any TV channel is committed to giving away FREE, interesting content (shows, movies, news, sports) to the general public. The more content is shown on a 24 hour basis, the more people stay hooked to the TV set. Thus under this scenario, the advertisers get thousands of viewers too.
The same thing should be done with your online business. Use quality content to drive massive amounts of people to your business websites. Give away articles, videos, training courses, press releases....all designed to create a BUZZ in the user community.
However, content is not restricted to informational and educational materials that you give away. Polls, online games, anecdotes, stories, survey questions, and quizzes are all good examples of alternative content. Anything that is not considered blatant advertising, but keeps the masses busy and entertained, can be considered content and these can be used to drive traffic to your business offer websites.
Content is still king. And it will remain so.

There's a lot of stuff that the gurus don't want you to know about MLM sponsoring. It's because they know that if you have that power in your hands, you wouldn't need their ebooks, training courses, and DVD's anymore.
The first truth about MLM sponsoring is that a lot of internet marketers use the network marketing industry to earn money. Now, that may sound confusing. But what I actually mean is this. A lot of folks online make money solely from selling information about MLM sponsoring. They know that if they can feed the imagination and interest of the network marketing crowd, then they can continuously earn by marketing "how to succeed in MLM" stuff.
That's not an evil fact, it's just a reality in the world, and it's necessary for a lot of people to survive.
On the other hand, the old fashioned multi level marketing model can still make you rich nowadays. However, you will never make it if you don't pull some resources from another industry. For example, you are in a network maketing company that sells weight loss products. If that's your case, it is not wise for you to restrain yourself with network marketing resources only. You need to gather market info, training materials, real time promotion strategies in the weight loss industry.
The fact is, networkers are pretty much concerned with how to recruit people. But the truth is, the target market doesn't care! See what I mean? If you can find a way to stop focusing on your own needs and start solving the needs of your target market (your product will determine who your target market is), then you can succeed and cease to become victim to the guru's prey.

The bad news is that generating your own MLM leads is a dream for most of you. Most have resorted to purchasing leads from lead shops. These lead sales people have ingenious ways of advertising. They really make the consumer believe that they are buying fresh untouched leads.
Sorry to break this to you but that is probably as far from the truth as you can get. Most lead brokers have sold the same lead so many times the people on the list change their phone number!
So here is the good news. Generating your own MLM leads is now easier than ever. This probably sounds ludicrous to you but it is true. Using the internet as a tool anyone can generate their own MLM leads.
How do you generate these leads?
You are going to need a few things to generate these leads. First you need to have a webpage. On your webpage you need an opt-in box. The opt-in box is how you obtain a prospects information. You want to collect their name, phone number and email address.
Now I know what most of you are thinking, how do I do all of that stuff?
Well to be honest with you it is going to take some brain stretching on your part. What does that mean?
It means you are going to have to learn something new. Don't sweat it. You do not have to recreate the wheel. Hook onto a good system that has all of this set up for you. Hang on to that system until you are comfortable doing it yourself. Then you will have the knowledge and confidence you need to set up your own lead capture page.
Next question you are probably asking is how do prospects find out about my opt-in page?
The short answer is through advertising. Yes advertising can be a scary concept. Especially for those who have been told to just talk to every living being in your path and that is all you need to grow your business. I am here to tell you if you want to generate your own MLM leads you will have to advertise.
How do I get started advertising?
Like I mentioned earlier, hook yourself onto a system that teaches you how to advertise and learn from the system. Then after you get proficient you will gain your own style and things will become easier and easier for you the more you do them. Before you know it you will be an advertising pro.
The first time you get to call a lead you generated on your own you will have a new experience. Finally you get to talk to someone who wants to talk to you. Someone who sought you out rather than you chasing them down like an animal. It is a really great experience that every MLM business owner should experience.
