This weekend promises to be an exciting football weekend in the NFL with the AFC and NFC championship games. The NFC game will be with the Green Bay Packers and The Chicago Bears and the AFC game is between The New York Jets and the Pittsburgh Steelers. With a 12-4 wins Pittsburgh and 11-5 Jets both teams had a spectacular seasons. Lots of people are saying that the Jets have a good chance of beating the Steelers because of their 22-17 victory earlier this season. This should definitely be an AFC East versus AFC North showdown at Heinz Field to determine who will represent the conference in Super Bowl XLV. There has been lots of friendly trash talking between my wife, a Jets fan, and myself who love the Steelers all week however we are having a lot of fun in the process.
This excitement brought me to thinking about some points on recruiting. Recruiting for your network-marketing business should involve seeking out qualified people. It's no different from what a scout or recruiter would look for to fill a position in any other type of business or in sports. For example: In the NFL there are hundreds of active talented players but in the end of each season only one team wins the Superbowl. Even with all that talent, one key element that builds a successful team is recruiting and training the right people for the team.
What's your strategy and mindset when it comes to recruiting for your MLM company?
These are a five tips which can help you sharpen the axe and build your belief when it comes to your recruiting.
Your Belief:
Ask yourself, "Do people make money and are living the lifestyle you seek in the business?" "Do customers derive a benefit from your product when they make a purchase?" If no or maybe you might be with the wrong company.
If yes, that will cement your belief in yourself and the industry and your company. In life, unless you are set financially you have to work somewhere. You can do it here in MLM or work in a 9-5 job. MLM can be challenging, but so is a job. Think about this fear about being laid off or someone else determining your days, how you spend your time and when you take your family vacations versus being able to develop a part time business that can set you to be in control of your destiny.
Develop your communication skills:
The key prospecting skills is knowing how you talk to people. You can say something that will attract a customer or repel them. You have to learn to ask questions and see where the prospect has a need or not. Can your business help them fill their need? You will lose them when you talk about you and not focus on them. Your objective is to develop your prospecting skills and do it consistently. It is very important to know what to say to a prospect. Have scripts and rehearse them with your work out partners.
Decide:
Make a commitment and be in production mode. Stay in phase one which is production mode and not in management mode. Ask yourself What did I produce today?
Fixing your desk, Face book, Twitter and shuffling leads don't work. Have an attitude based on your new set of beliefs. Also be excited because of your new beliefs. If you are excited, joyful having a great time that will have an impact on what you are doing and people will be drawn to you.
If someone asks how's it going? Say "Man I'm having the greatest day of my life" When you operate from a position of excitement people just will want to be a part of it. Bring out energy when you are on the phone with people because people will feel your energy. This business is about reaching out and touch somebody and dramatically change the rest of their lives for good. The key is to get them curious. People will be wanting to be a part of it.
Find Your ratio:
Remember this is a numbers game. Figure out what your ratio. You might be 1 in 10 or 3 in ten. If you want to have a huge check learn to move through the numbers and realize your ratio. As the great Thomas Watson said "If you want to be successful double your rate of failure."
Don't get attached to the outcome:
Have a willingness to walk away from a prospect. Don't get emotionally attached to the outcome. You might not have a check as yet especially when you are new to the business and you really want to have people sign up. You have to be willing to walk away from someone and not have an emotional attachment. This can be very empowering to your business. Also, pay attention not to what your prospect says but what they don't say. Think about it if a prospect breaks a promise they are probably not interested in your business and they might be just more of a pain than good for your business.
The Legendary football coach Vince Lombardi said; "Fundamentals win it." and Football is two things: It's blocking and tackling. If you block and tackle better than the other team, you're going to win. This weekend we will surely see about that in the championship games. In recruiting follow these fundamentals listed above and then execute the fundamentals and the rest will follow.
