Each time I see an MLM guru online, I find it hard to not respond with skepticism. The main reason is that there are hundreds, possibly thousands of them online. Nowadays it's hard to differentiate which ones are real and which ones are fake. The sad thing is that, the websites and sales letters owned by fake gurus look similar (and sometimes even more appealing) than the websites owned by real gurus. In effect, many people are being misled. This article will show you tips on how to find a right MLM mentor for you to follow.

First, examine the claims of the guru in question. If his or her promises are too good to be true and too much far out from reality, then it probably is!

Second, Google the name of the supposed guru. If he or she is a legit marketer, you'll see reviews and feedback about that person. You'll also see some of the websites and blogs that he or she owns. This will give you an idea about that person's reputation.

Third, examine the guru's sales points. If he engages in negative marketing, bad mouths other networkers and companies, or branding self more than usual, chances are you're dealing with a slick, salesman who's just out to get your money!

Fourth, email the "guru" personally. Ask him or her for helpful information regarding your business. If he cannot give useful advice, or if he avoids any kind of customer interaction, then you know you're dealing with someone who can't deliver!

I'm glad that I am not a guru and I have never claimed myself to be one. What I'm happy about is the way I've interacted with other people, whether they belong to my downline or not. If you want to succeed in your home based business, quit the MLM guru act and start being yourself. If you're following a mentor, make sure you are following someone who knows what he or she is doing. Follow your gut. Keep your eyes open. Use any helpful information you can get in order to achieve ultimate success.
