The attrition rate in MLM is really high. I don't have any statistics to show you except my personal experience. If you also interview other uplines from other networking companies, they will tell you the same thing. Lots of new distributors tend to drop out from an MLM program within 4 to 6 months. Then if the drop out/attrition rate for your downline is much higher than the signup rate, then boom, you don't have a business but a leaking bucket.

There are many ways I know of that can reduce your attrition rate. I've personally proven these "attrition minimizing" principles. I'll share to you the most effective way to minimizing attrition and keep your downline growing. If you make this action habitual, you'll retain more people and your downline and you'll have a better chance of achieving massive duplication:

The secret is to invest in the relationship. The relationship with your prospects, customers and signups is the single most important factor that will cause them to stay in your network marketing downline. For example, if people buy products from you, they may pay you and then it will take them just a few days to consume the product they bought (if it's an info product, it will take less time to consume). Fact is, if you invest your efforts merely on making a sale, your connection with people is only short term and fleeting. But if you invest in the relationship, meaning, you work at building value, trust and rapport with people during a long period of time, they will stay with you no matter where you go, what product you recommend, and whatever business opportunity you may be involved with in the future years to come.
