Many succesful networkers say that to succeed in MLM, you need to focus your recruitment efforts on people who are already in network marketing, or have been with an MLM company before.
Well, that is true to some extent. But there's a slight twist.
If you take a look at what's happening online, you will notice that networkers are trying to recruit each other! There's nothing really wrong with this, except that majority of people in our industry limit themselves within the MLM niche or market.
They forgot that there are a great deal of prospects waiting OUTSIDE the network marketing niche. These prospects are just waiting to be marketed to!
If you want to look for new prospects in untapped markets, why not try to search the following industries/niches:
* Real estate
* Investment
* Offline business owners
* Printing and publishing
* Golf circles
* Casino and gambling
* Religion (this is a big one. A great percentage of devout Christians are full time networkers!! I can't explain this, but it's happening)
* Bloggers (bloggers are splendid prospects for MLM business!!)
* Website owners
* Lawyers, doctors and other professionals
* etc..
You see, there are many sources of prospects for your network marketing business! All you have to do is be creative and saturate each niche with focus and energy.
For example, try this:
Go to Google Blogsearch. Type the name of the niche you like to search, then type the kind of blogging platform. For example: "Real Estate Wordpress", or... "Golfers Blogspot", or..."Lawyer Typepad".
When you click 'search', all the blog owners in the specific niche that you searched will appear. Now you may visit their blogs, post comments, build a relationship with them...and ultimately lead them towards your business offer.
Now that's something that many networkers just don't do, but actually works.

If you search Google at this very instant, and you enter the MLM / affiliate marketing category, you will see a very conspicuous trend. Hundreds and thousands of various network marketing related tools are being sold online. It ranges from autoresponders, ebook rebranders, website replicators. keyword research tools, splash page creators, web page audio generators...and many others!
Sure some of these tools are somewhat valuable. However, it is easy to become mentally paralyzed just by thinking about all these available network marketing tools, and how to specifically use each one of them! It is even harder to imagine which one is the most valuable of all. Every seller seems to say that you can't live without the tool they are offering you!
Do you really need to purchase all of these "tools" being sold online before you can succeed in online network marketing?
My answer is NO.
In fact, you already have the best network marketing tool in the world. And I don't want you to feel corny about this, but the truth is, your brain is the best marketing tool there is. Your expertise will enable you to attract 1,000 free leads while the entire market around you is paying painfully for each lead. Your knowledge will allow you to fully optimize your marketing efforts and get the maximum amount of results from it, while paying for less! Your market intuition will help you detect what is valuable and what truly matters versus the things you don't truly need.
You see, when you approach this industry with the intention to study it with the intensity of a CIA spy, you will never look for "guaranteed secrets" and shortcuts again. Your expertise will allow you to see this industry as it is. Also, stop analyzing too much, and start doing more! If you commit mistakes, you will end up learning more stuff, and that's good for you. The most important thing is that you learn and understand the MLM industry a little bit better each day. Invest in your BRAIN -- your expertise, knowledge and experience -- because that's the best network marketing tool in the world.
http://www.gentlehorizons.wsHi everyone. It's 8 am right now on my side of the world, and I just dropped by to say hi to the readers of this blog. I was away from the computer for an entire week, which explains why there are no new blog posts. So sorry about that.
Anyway, I had one fabulous weekend, and as far as network marketing is concerned, I had a new sign up last Friday. The guy received my M.L.M. Prison Break ebook via email and somehow he learned a lot from it. He took advanage of the bonus business opportunity as well. Well, what can I say? Another colleague to work with.
Just last night I was surfing the net for breaking news about the network marketing industry. As you know, things tend to be fast paced online and I don't wanna get left behind in the field I have chosen. So I've been hanging out in popular forums such as Magnetic Sponsoring, Home Based Business Forums, MLM.com, and exchanging views with other network marketers.
I've also been visiting blogs and exchanging emails with some heavy hitters.
Here's the news:
There is an alarming trend going on in the network marketing world. It is this:
The attrition rate is going up! That means, networkers nowadays are switching from one company to another... more than ever before! This can be both good and bad, and in my opinion, we must do anything to lessen it (because we can't avoid it), or at least we can find a good way to handle it when it happens.
I wrote an entire article about this topic and you can check it out here:

Have a great day!

Why do you need a larger amount of traffic and a larger amount of email subscribers? The answer is simple. Online marketing, just like any business in the world, heavily depends on the law of averages. This means that to increase the number of conversions (sales and sign-ups), then you also need to increase the number of people who view your offer. By doing so, you also increase your success percentage and the ratio of prospects to customers/business partners.
But for most network marketers online, getting the traffic and building the big list is the hard part. While the gurus and experts make it look easy (because they have decades of experience in this industry), the reality is that the average online networker struggles with these two basic things (traffic and list building). The reason for this is because ten or twenty years ago, traffic and list building are foreign to the network marketing field. This industry emerged mainly from offline marketing and word of mouth. The MLM old timers and the pioneers did methods that are totally different from what we are doing today. The result? Very few training materials about traffic and list building are available from the MLM industry itself. We need to derive these information from a very different but relevant industry -- internet marketing.
In this article, I cannot go through specific list building and traffic methods. The fact is, methods go obsolete, and trends go out of style. but concepts remain and that's our main concern today. If you want to truly get more traffic and build a huge list, you need to do two (2) basic things: Advertise more, and produce more content.
At the end of the day, people who have the MOST ads out there, and those who produce and CONTROL THE CONTENT, are the ones who get the traffic and build massive lists. Sure there's more clockwork going on behind the scenes, but basically, putting out more ads and circulating more content on the web is the name of the game. Those are the things that rake the big bucks. The key is to develop enough CONSISTENCY and DISCIPLINE to advertise and produce content on a regular basis. Do it effectively, and do it regularly. Then watch your online business grow.

There's so much talk on the internet regarding one of the most important aspects of any MLM business: duplication. For majority of network marketers, duplication is a myth. It's one of the many unfulfilled promises that the company and the recruiting leaders fed into the minds of newbies. Any MLM biz opp peddler today will tell you that their system is "easily duplicatable" and automated, they'd even say anything to get you to sign. (the acronym for G.U.T.S. -- get you to sign).
Is duplication truly achievable?
With the MLM attrition or drop out rate constantly increasing, it seems hard to believe that any true duplicatable system exists. A lot of money making program promoters will simply pitch you about the company, tell you that they have the best comp plan in town, charge you big bucks, then give you an instant replicated site. (congratulations...almost everyone today have at least 3 to 4 replicated sites...call that "exciting"). Is this duplication? Well, to some extent, yes. But still, simply getting a replicated site will not trigger the snowball effect in your business. In fact, there's so much more that meets the eye!
If you truly want to duplicate, copy the system, not the upline.
Majority of uplines just tell their new team members to "follow what I did". Then they talk about Google advertising, article marketing, search engine optimization (can't even spell that one!), Web 2.0, RSS and Atom feeds, traffic exchanges and just let the "stair step breakaway plan for work for you".
Then the new downline says, "huh? what's that again??"
You see, not all team members can copy what the upline did. The reason is this: All people have different sets of skills. Some are technically minded. Some are not. Some are more comfortable with offline marketing, while others freak out. Some people can make 100 personal videos on Youtube, others cannot stand the idea. Some can spit out 10 to 20 articles per week, others can't go through a single paragraph! And believe me, I've got team members who constantly bring new recruits to our team, and their primary method of generating leads is contacting their warm market and getting referrals from them. Talk about the "old way", it's still not obsolete!
So if you, as an upline, try to tell your members to just "copy you", it's a bit dangerous. Your downline members have varying skills, and not all will be able to follow along. If you restrict their marketing to Google AdWords and article marketing just because that's exactly what you're doing, you are also restricting their growth. I call this "duplicating the upline".
On the other hand, I encourage my team members to copy the system, not me. I tell them "here's your replicated site, do anything you can to invite more people to it. Whether you do it offline or online, it's up to you". If they choose to do online marketing, I have training material prepared especially for that. If they choose offline methods, I have a separate training series for them. If they choose to employ both marketing methods, then fine and great.
The important thing is to let your prospects choose how they intend to run their MLM business. I cannot push them to do exactly what I'm doing because I'm a different person. Dictating them what to do is similar to strangling them and even killing their innate potential.
