Over the last couple of days I've received some phone calls from a couple of network marketers wanting me to take a examine their network marketing and advertising opportunity. During our conversation I laughed and told Sue she is definitely an excellent sales individual, she is quite good on the phone, to which she retorted 'I'm not a salesman, I just adore the enterprise!' I'm sorry to burst your bubble Sue but network marketing and advertising Is actually a sales and marketing and advertising job!!! 5 LISTEN TO YOUR PROSPECT

Sue then proceeded to go via the compensation plan with me,but unfortunately she didn't take into account the type of personality I have, and so didn't tailor her 'pitch' to appeal to me. Network Marketing is like farming. You have to seed before you harvest. It takes time for that seed to grow. But with cultivation, care, rain, and sunshine there will be a harvest. Farming can be a great way of life, but it can also be hard. Often it is impossible to plan for a crop failure due to weather changes such as draught or too much rain. The economy can also be a factor as well. If they choose to work a second job the time working has to be flexible.

The work ethic of the farmer is what is needed in network marketing. Many begin and come to find out it isn't that easy. Network Marketing is like farming. You have to seed before you harvest. It takes time for that seed to grow. But with cultivation, care, rain, and sunshine there will be a harvest.

There is also an element of faith involved. You spread the seed with the expectation that there will be a harvest. That is also true with network marketing, you have to "spread the seed" first with the expectation of a harvest, you don't actually know when and where that is going to happen but you still have to continue the process.

Before I could accomplish what I had, I also had to go through the seeding and weeding process personally. Many think they can jump right from seed to harvest. Just as that doesn't work in farming so that is true also with network marketing. There is a process of growth for both yourself and all of those you sponsor into you MLM opportunity.

I heard it explained best this way: First they have to have faith in you (seed) enough to begin the process. Second they begin to learn to take some action (cultivation). Third they begin to follow your lead and duplicate what you did, (harvest). Many think the harvest is at the sponsoring time, that is not true. Jim Rohn had a great analogy with the farming, we seed in the Springtime, that is the sponsoring and recruiting process. In the Summer time we cultivate and protect against threats (the growth period of the young distributor.) In the Fall is harvest time, (we begin to see the fruits of our efforts with the new recruits, as they gain confidence and skill). In the Winter we are at rest, (While we continue to "Mentor, Protect, and teach.) In the Spring we start again.

Network Marketing is not about the money - it's about people. Build people and then the people will build the business. Even if we would never make any money in this businesses, we're growing and becoming the people we were meant to be, and we're helping others grow into leaders.

This weekend promises to be an exciting football weekend in the NFL with the AFC and NFC championship games. The NFC game will be with the Green Bay Packers and The Chicago Bears and the AFC game is between The New York Jets and the Pittsburgh Steelers. With a 12-4 wins Pittsburgh and 11-5 Jets both teams had a spectacular seasons. Lots of people are saying that the Jets have a good chance of beating the Steelers because of their 22-17 victory earlier this season. This should definitely be an AFC East versus AFC North showdown at Heinz Field to determine who will represent the conference in Super Bowl XLV. There has been lots of friendly trash talking between my wife, a Jets fan, and myself who love the Steelers all week however we are having a lot of fun in the process.

This excitement brought me to thinking about some points on recruiting. Recruiting for your network-marketing business should involve seeking out qualified people. It's no different from what a scout or recruiter would look for to fill a position in any other type of business or in sports. For example: In the NFL there are hundreds of active talented players but in the end of each season only one team wins the Superbowl. Your Belief:

Fixing your desk, Face book, Twitter and shuffling leads don't work. Have an attitude based on your new set of beliefs. Also be excited because of your new beliefs. If you are excited, joyful having a great time that will have an impact on what you are doing and people will be drawn to you.

If someone asks how's it going? Say "Man I'm having the greatest day of my life" When you operate from a position of excitement people just will want to be a part of it. Bring out energy when you are on the phone with people because people will feel your energy. This business is about reaching out and touch somebody and dramatically change the rest of their lives for good. The key is to get them curious. People will be wanting to be a part of it.

Find Your ratio:

Remember this is a numbers game. Figure out what your ratio. You might be 1 in 10 or 3 in ten. If you want to have a huge check learn to move through the numbers and realize your ratio. As the great Thomas Watson said "If you want to be successful double your rate of failure."

Don't get attached to the outcome:

Have a willingness to walk away from a prospect. Don't get emotionally attached to the outcome. You might not have a check as yet especially when you are new to the business and you really want to have people sign up. You have to be willing to walk away from someone and not have an emotional attachment. This can be very empowering to your business. Also, pay attention not to what your prospect says but what they don't say. Think about it if a prospect breaks a promise they are probably not interested in your business and they might be just more of a pain than good for your business.

The Legendary football coach Vince Lombardi said; "Fundamentals win it." and Football is two things: It's blocking and tackling. If you block and tackle better than the other team, you're going to win. This weekend we will surely see about that in the championship games.
