In this article I'd like to point some very common mistakes that network marketing newbies commit. If you're new to this industry, the things I'm going to point out will save you years of unnecessary pain and struggle. Lots of newbies are ultimately butchered and victimized by MLM whales simply because they are innocent and are still venturing into a brave new world. Here are tips to start making money even if you're new:
1. Define What SPAM Is and Never Do It. Honest, well meaning people sometimes fall to the temptation of sending SPAM. They're not bad, they just don't know what SPAM is. The rule of thumb here is this: Never contact or email anyone who hasn't previously asked information about you and your business. This applies to Facebook, Myspace, Social Networks and blogs.
2. Don't Drink The MLM Kool Aid. "Drinking the Kool Aid" is the term that we use to refer to the marketing ploys used by lots of people in the industry. When you're new, many people will approach you and offer an "instant solution" to getting rich or growing a huge downline. They sell that solution, software, system, or product and package it as a "quick fix" to your problems. They sell it like Kool Aid and make you believe that it's really that easy to make money (just mix with water and drink). Never buy or even drink the network marketing "Kool Aid'. It's bad for you. Always do a thourough evaluation of a product, system, or software before investing on it.
3. Work Closely With Your Upline. The major mistake of MLM newbies is to try to figure things out on their own. Don't do that. Always ask the advice of people who has "been there, done that". Most of the time, it's your upline who has more experience than you. If your upline is also new in this industry, try seeking the advice of a generic, legitimate mentor who is willing to give you valuable tips. be sure to share these valuable tips to your upline too. He's your partner in this business, not your competitor.
